Recruiting questions

Before you make a move.

When can licensed agents join DFREL?

Independent-contractor (1099) licensed real estate agents can begin now, subject to licensing, onboarding, and brokerage approval. DFREL plans to begin its Salary + Commission Licensed Real Estate Agent program in January 2027.

What is the 1099 commission structure?

The 1099 agent plan uses an 80/20 commission split until the annual company-dollar cap is reached. After reaching the cap, the split becomes 95/5 for the remainder of the applicable cap year. The written independent-contractor agreement controls all compensation terms.

Does DFREL guarantee leads?

No. DFREL provides lead-generation opportunities and business-development support, but lead volume, availability, assignment, conversion, and income are never guaranteed.

How are opportunities assigned?

Assignment can depend on market activity, location, licensing, availability, responsiveness, fit, follow-up performance, participation, and the needs of the consumer.

Can a 1099 agent move into the Salary + Commission program?

Yes. A 1099 agent may be considered for the Salary + Commission program based on performance, professionalism, participation, business needs, and satisfaction of the program's employment requirements. Transition is not automatic or guaranteed.
